Lover Boys

Artworks Felix Gonzalez-Torres

An artwork that replicates the ideal weight of the artist and his partner who was dying at the time the piece was made. Visitors are encouraged to take a piece of candy as the pile should be continuously replenished. A metaphoric creation of the conditions for perpetual life.

Hourglass & Hook

Double-breasted jacket Emporio Armani
Boots Doc Martens

Two things I've always wanted. Ready to be discovered and picked up by me on a grey Saturday morning. Gratification for 15 Euros. And then, the rain began to fall. Isn't everything in life just a question of timing?

Not In Fashion

Photos MMK

Jürgen Teller photographing a photographer while arranging his works in the exhibition space. I highly anticipate tonight's opening of Not In Fashion. A reflection on the smybiosis of photography and fashion - including the oeuvre of houses such as Maison Martin Margiela, Comme des Garcons or Helmut Lang.

Frankfurt, flea market

Compared on an international level, Frankfurt flea market is amongst the top. Nowhere else, one can find such a high degree of authentic 90s fashion and design. This time I had a lovely talk with a couple eating currywurst and offering me a special deal on their unwashed s'Oliver sweatshirts.

Theoretical Confrontation

Street Failure vs. Akris Fall/Winter 2010

Rumours say that the street has become the catwalk. And true beauty is mostly to be found aside known fashion paths. Well, there is a fine line between felicity and failure. There are always two options.

Green tea cake, Imori, Frankfurt

Time to revive an old tradition: the Detail Diary. Green tea cake and coffee at the amazing Imori café. Being served by Japanese ladies in dirndl dresses. I'm still on a caffeine overdose.

Mishappenings

Scenes from a blurred life between London, Frankfurt and Paris. A life marked by Prada shoes, macaroons and tourist boats. And mistakes.

Meat

Artworks Xuan Huy Nguyen

Surreal and intense. A universe of flying chicken wings, balloon animals and distorted bodies. Cruelly reigned by revolution, deformation and protest.

Right Or Wrong

You nasty girl, you nasty, you trashy. You classless girl, you sleazy, you freaky... Revealing skin in summer, yes we like this. But there is ways to do it right (above) and ways to do it wrong (below).

Pride

This is Horst in full blow. Isn't my street parade outfit heart-stopping?

Pussy Trash

Like the swine flu it spreads everywhere. Not always in its prettiest form. Unfortunately. One more evidence for the fact that kitten love is one of the most difficult balance acts in fashion. The brave step forward.

Flesh

Artworks Suzannah Sinclair

Seemingly, Horst is not alone. And someone else from Frankfurt, Germany likes nudes. If she also loves sausage and schnitzel is not confirmed yet. But she is warmly invited for a dinner at Atschel. Who else wants to join?

Triangle Cycle

Time to loose control. My today's 1 Euro flea market bargain. Knitted jumper with an amazing traingle hole structure. And it looks expensive. Because: Margiela style does not cost a thing.

More Than This

Long-time desired black laced leather boots 6,-

Vintage button-down shirt with horn buttons 8,-

Elton John's most romantic hits (very rare cover with white piano and kitten) 0,50

Saturday was an amazingly beautiful day. Crispy cold but sunny. Perfect for a little flea market stroll (snips see above), a coffee with beloved friends and later in the evening a beer and the new (very boring) Woody Allen movie.

Sales stand, Zeil, Frankfurt, Germany

Decorative fingerfood was the hit in the 80s. Funky fruits and vegetables cut into ridiculous, outstanding and sensational scupltures. The pride of every housewife. Well, and in Germany, it still seems to be popular. As a dear friend once said: Coming to Germany is like a time travel.

Fake Fur

My styling tip for German Russians: Wear bright coloured fake fur with 80s red lipstick all over your face. Just in case you can't afford collagen for fuller lips. Plus: Smoke a cigarette and eat a chocolate bar at the same time. The Absolutely Fabulous of Frankfurt.

Sperm Lasso

Lonesome Cowboy by Murakami Takashi

I know no one wants to or is living in Frankfurt, but if so see the Murakami exhibition at MMK. Or go to any other museum because listening to people explaining art is great entertainment.

P.S.: And please watch Kaikai & Kiki!
