Singularity

Raf Simons Fall/Winter 2011

This collection is not going to be produced - so they say. Well who gives me a neoprene college T-shirt now? Where is my flattened 2D coat? Where my black trash bag plastic trousers? It's a sad sad world.

Fruit Salad

Jil Sander Fall/Winter 2011

Oops! He did it again! Deep in my heart I was hoping and expecting a renunciation to colour. Hasn't happened. So my wardrobe will have to pause another season. I do like mangos though.

Suggestion #8

Mark Rothko painting, 1964

While wearing the Raf Simons Fall/Winter 2008 collection on Christmas eve, the perfect additional gift comes as an original Mark Rothko painting. Preferably monochromatic of course.

Suggestion #7

Bauhaus architecture model

Living in a strictly square, cold and clinical concrete box is my idea of perfect architecture. Concrete walls, concrete floors. White furniture, steel kitchen. Emptiness and some flea market findings.

Sans Substitute

Fendi Fall/Winter 2007 & Spring/Summer 2007

There has been one year in the history of Fendi that demands closer inspection. 2007 offered impeccable cut and attention to material. As a result I am truly melancholic regarding the fact that the menswear line as such doesn't exist anymore. Maybe I have to comfort myself with a logo bag.

Razor Thorn

Jacket JULIAANDBEN

A rare feeling. Putting on a garment for the very first time - and knowing it's perfection. Love at first sight. Let's never break up. Let's walk through the sun and through the rain.

Confessions Of An Exhibitionist

Artworks Ellsworth Kelly

Fresh flowers, a glass of red wine. Intellectual thoughts lead to exceptional characters. Reminding myself of which paths my mind seeks to explore. I want nothing. Just nakedness.

Gym Inspiration

Neneh Cherry - Kisses On The Wind 1989

Isn't her outfit just absolutely flawless. A black high waisted tube skirt and a bra top - nothing else. Buffalo Style merged with minimalsim. Graphic and straight-forward.

Antiseptica

Céline Spring/Summer 2011

White nurses. Plywood seating. And a plastic-stripe-butcher-cooling-room entrance. A raw purism paired with hygienic clothes and a dosage of unexpected colour to reverce everything again. Bad pictures. Beautiful collection. Worthy of all the high expectations.

Theoretical Confrontation

Street Failure vs. Akris Fall/Winter 2010

Rumours say that the street has become the catwalk. And true beauty is mostly to be found aside known fashion paths. Well, there is a fine line between felicity and failure. There are always two options.

Ambitions

After discovering my love for and indulging myself in wearing tanga briefs, the next mission is to find the perfect body suit. Preferably minimalist, pure cotton, no funny details. Anyone?

Compression

Ann Demeulemeester Spring/Summer 2011

To contrast yesterday's confession, serious offerings for a tasteful man's wardrobe. All-white futurism replaces the erstwhile melancholic romanticism of Ann Demeulemeester. An inventive shift to modernity that pleases my eye.

Another Variation

Jil Sander Spring/Summer 2011

Colour. And flowers. I agree it is a reference to the minimalist core of an early Jil Sander. Accordingly pure is the self-repetition of Raf Simons and his encounter with waist-conscious tailoring and a short shorts spirited mind.
