Teenage Dirtbag

Yohji Yamamoto Fall/Winter 2011 & Jil Sander Spring/Summer 2011

A good way to still fit one's favourite clothes after a radical diet. A good compromise when stealing pieces from your parent's closet. A good reason to buy vintage clothes on ebay even though they don't complement your actual size.

The Sense Of Presence

Tim Hamilton Spring/Summer 2011 vs. Michaël Borremans

Surreal portraits of women. Dissolving into the circumfluent space. Only hold in reality by form and texture that remains touchable but not always visible. Their humanity sustained by hues of earth, skin and dust.

Trojan Horse

Dries van Noten Fall/Winter 2011

Set in an ancient-mystical scenery, eternal remembrance might not apply to this collection's pieces. The hype of the season left indifferent. Only noteworthy with its fur-lined lapels and colour-block trousers. Je suis desolée.

Suggestion #8

Mark Rothko painting, 1964

While wearing the Raf Simons Fall/Winter 2008 collection on Christmas eve, the perfect additional gift comes as an original Mark Rothko painting. Preferably monochromatic of course.

Confessions Of An Exhibitionist

Artworks Ellsworth Kelly

Fresh flowers, a glass of red wine. Intellectual thoughts lead to exceptional characters. Reminding myself of which paths my mind seeks to explore. I want nothing. Just nakedness.

Love Marriage

Stella McCartney Spring/Summer 2011 & Petar Petrov Spring/Summer 2011

Two households, both alike in dignity.
In fair Paris, where we lay our scene.
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny.
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
From forth the fatal loins of these two foes.
A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life.

Antiseptica

Céline Spring/Summer 2011

White nurses. Plywood seating. And a plastic-stripe-butcher-cooling-room entrance. A raw purism paired with hygienic clothes and a dosage of unexpected colour to reverce everything again. Bad pictures. Beautiful collection. Worthy of all the high expectations.

Bauhaus

Top Raf Simons Fall/Winter 2010
Bottom Rietveld Schröder house

When clothing becomes architecture. And vice versa. In this case, fashion can thoroughly be entitled pure façade. Without regret or any pejorative undertone.

Marmoreal

Giuliano Fujiwara Spring/Summer 2011

As always Fujiwara presented a well thought-out collection. Cohesive variations of one theme, introducing a range of rubber boots inspired shoes and sandals marked by cross-references to show wrestling and superheroes. I'll take a pair.

Wellness

Dries van Noten Fall/Winter 2010

Silence. Suddenly a broken speaker noise resounds from the model's hands. Delivering the portable soundtrack for the show. A show that impressed with the symbiosis of suit pants and long johns, adding a new option to the men's fall wardrobe. The signature Dries patterns were toned down but nonetheless exquisitly composed. Perfectly accompanied by streaks of blue hair.

The Spell

Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2009

This collection was quite ingenious. Especially referring to one aspect: the slimming use of colour and construction. In fact, it is one of his strongest collections. Decent and yet impulsive.

Reflective Dust

Prada Fall/Winter 2008

Another Prada collection that evolves its beauty and strength particularly in retrospective. It is still hard to grasp, the bikini transformed into a men's suit. Frill skirts opposed to stiff collar duplicates. Confusing and directional.
