Russki Chic

Gosha Rubchinskiy Spring/Summer 2009

I can't deny a certain fascination and attraction to the East European rude boy aesthetic. Shaved heads, bomber jackets, XL sweaters. Camouflage shorts, tennis socks and cans of beer. It might be the notion of innocence hiding behind the militaristic façade.

Arithmetic Shift

Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter 2010

Boring. Refreshingly boring. Marc Jacobs and his interpretation of minimalsim. Grey uniforms of demureness. The decadence gives way to virginity. Even the most glamourous looks appear toned down.

White Feathers Fight

Todd Lynn Spring/Summer 2010 vs. Baby swan

Innocent and vulnerable while mean and aggressive. As fascinating as threatenting. Nature hides the most evil behind soft façades.

Identical

Above Patrik Ervell Fall/Winter 2009
Below Chloe Spring/Summer 2010

Both collections are amazing. Undeniable proof that a suit suits everyone. May it be boy or girl. Innocence that intrigues.

Prolonged Innocence

Wayne Fitzell Fall/Winter 2009

My favorite of the Central Saint Martins MA graduate shows. Schoolboy looks, leather harness, giraffe prints. So cute. Someone was reading my mind. Scandalous.

Manipulated Forces

Lenny Pier Ramos Antwerp Royal Academy Year 1

A dress astonishingly resembling the birth of a goddess. Ascending from white structure and virgin space. Vulnerable and fragile. Just existing for one second. And then disappearing.
