Bigfoot Encounters

Helmut Lang Spring/Summer 2005 vs. Deichmann slippers

In case you wondered: that's what I give beloved ones for Christmas. Gigantic furry fluffy monster paw slippers. I believe everyone should wear them. Everywhere. Anytime. Joy to the world!

Suggestion #10

John Galliano newspaper print briefs

And finally, something someone can actually afford. A nice pair of the iconic Galliano briefs. If that's too sexy for your cupboard, you could also go for a pair of black leather gloves. Happy Christmas shopping!

Noguchi table, 1944

Life wouldn't be complete without a Japanese classic. Black triangular shapes creating the optical illusion of lightness and floatation. And always remember: the joy of giving is priceless.

Suggestion #8

Mark Rothko painting, 1964

While wearing the Raf Simons Fall/Winter 2008 collection on Christmas eve, the perfect additional gift comes as an original Mark Rothko painting. Preferably monochromatic of course.

Suggestion #7

Bauhaus architecture model

Living in a strictly square, cold and clinical concrete box is my idea of perfect architecture. Concrete walls, concrete floors. White furniture, steel kitchen. Emptiness and some flea market findings.

Suggestion #6

Tribal tattoos

Yes, it's quite obvious but I wish for more tribal tattoos in our society. Especially amongst the intellectual elite. I do admit to enjoy looking at a phenomenon called 'slag tag'. So please, do me the favour.

Sandals, Lanvin Spring/Summer 2011

If you pick anything snakeskin related from the Lanvin menswear collection as my christmas gift you won't have to keep the receipt. I'll take it! If it's not the briefcase, I am also happy about those lovely trekking sandals.

Suggestion #4

Leather T-shirt, Maison Martin Margiela Fall/Winter 2010

I've desired this piece from the very first day. And I've tried to comfort myself with a vintage Nicole Farhi leather shirt. But it's not the same. I won't rest until my prayers have been heard.

Suggestion #3

Saffiano tote, Prada

Some might think it's decadent to carry one's sweaty gym clothes in an expensive bag. But I disagree. If I'm gonna be seen holding this item every second day, I want it to be something precious.

Suggestion #2

Bronze statue

Since my visit to Millesgården I am longing for a vintage athlete statue. I'll be happy to admire its beauty every morning and wallow in the depths of controversial Greek mythology.

Diamonds & Pearls: Dolce & Gabbana, 2008

This certain time of the year has come. Presenting: the most coveted pieces. Preferably wrapped in expensive glitter paper. Awaiting the warm touch of my hands. Staged under a white plastic christmas tree.

Season's Greetings

Photos Bruce Weber

Only 24 days left. The world is covered in whiteness. And minus degrees make me wear an all-in-one at night. Time for a flashback and the Abercrombie & Fitch Christmas catalogue from 1999.

Space Cookies

I sooooooo love frosting and sugar pearls!!!
Especially on homemade cookies. The tiny little creations you see below are the result of a 1h shopping and 5h baking session (it's not so easy to find exactly what you're looking for). But now I'm totally happy with the outcome. I proudly present: Christmas cookies made in Germany - with so much love!
Frosted rings with sugar streusel
Chocolate donkeys
Stockings with gold pearls
Snowmen with cocos topping

And many, many more variatons...
(Recipe - as always - on demand)

"Sugar sugar honey
Pumpkin pie
Baby if you leave I guess you'll die
Sugar sugar honey can't you see
You can't live without me" - Cultured Pearls
