Lover Boys

Artworks Felix Gonzalez-Torres

An artwork that replicates the ideal weight of the artist and his partner who was dying at the time the piece was made. Visitors are encouraged to take a piece of candy as the pile should be continuously replenished. A metaphoric creation of the conditions for perpetual life.

Watering Flowers

Photos Unknown

A rather romantic adaption of the Duchamps urinal. And a rather entertaining pose. A rather provocative post title as well, I may assume. Put shortly: We like to say it with flowers.

Non-Sterile

Artworks Keith Sonnier

The smell of medical latex gloves. Manipulated cloth and paper pieces. Dyed, dipped, painted fabrics. Neglectfully mounted onto walls. Evoking the sensuality and poetry of fortuitousness.

Shock Value

Top Architecture model, Nathalie Frankowski & Cruz Garcia
Bottom Exhibition display, James Castle

When two different things are exactly the same. Love. Airship. Architecture. Seriously, both images have nothing to do with each other, creations of their own. And still, one seems like the re-interpreation of the other.

Holistic Triptych

Top Guy Bourdin
Center Massimo & Lella Vignelli
Bottom Thomas Kiesewetter

Guy, Massimo and Thomas unconsciously connected via form and colour. Transmedial concepts that carry a similar notion and degree of expression. Reducing the principles of life to triangle, circle and square.

Ikebana

Artworks Isa Genzken

As I recently discovered my softer flower side and now surround myself with white tulips or buttercups, I have picked some unconventional arrangment proposals for you. What about a floral installation à la Isa Genzken for your living room?

Studies of Constriction

Artworks Christo

I can't resist my current fixation to everything art-related. And in this case, the actual result feels very fashionable. Buildings wearing white canvas and ropes. Bondage and architecture.

Trompe L'œil

In a comment to the previous post, Daniel kindly pointed out an undeniable similarity between the Fornasetti vase and the artworks of Tony Oursler. Significant observations of an expert's eye.

Prada Spring/Summer 2010

Prada Spring/Summer 2008

One of the few reasons to actually buy the Prada book is the compilation of showspaces. The converted factory space at Via Fogazzaro in Milan transformed into various architectural grounds of experimentation. The continuous effort to dissolve the rigid configurations of the traditional runway. Unfortunately, and that speaks for itself, the venues are not labelled with the respective season, so Horst has to do the research work.

A Lie

Photos Jose Javier Serrano, Mark Marco

Mirror-inverted interior fantasies. The raw and the clean. Opposites attract. And I can assure you, I know what I am talking about.

We all know it, but I say it again: Duchamps is nice.
